THere me go,he said it all, with an extensive report too;)

thefollen:biggrin:o you think, after cutting the rowing part, can the diet be followed to drop a few pounds

The rowing was more of a warmup really- I'd emerge from the gym with a t-shirt so soaked that it was like I'd jumped into a swimming pool. Basically if you give yourself a good working over (safely of course, without feeling faint) that should be fine.

Dietwise it's whatever works for you; for instance I'm only 5'5 and now weigh 9.5st (134lb). You may need to ramp the calories a bit if you're larger, it's just getting the balance. Admittedly I was pushing the balance a little- was rather hungry quite often but strong in the workouts and felt pretty good. Worth having a go and see what works.

Hydration is important too- if you're sweating loads you'll have to take on a fair bit of water. A pint of water about an hour after eating is good too. Saying all this- it's just what worked for me and I'm by no means a health professional.

Good luck with it

Cheers for the long post! I was much the same, I dropped 20lb in a couple of months to get rid of the worst of the flubber, now I partly cycle so I CAN drink beer and eat cheese

No worries sir- that's great going! I love a few beers myself, and am addicted to Byron Burgers.

Cycling's so good for fitness eh? It's like getting fit without even realising. Occasionally throw in a cheeky spin class down the gym too, it's how I'd imagine riding a fixie to be!

I've foolishly signed up to be probably the only bloke in a 'spin for charity' event later in the year...

What is a Byron burger?

It's a fast expanding chain of burger restaurants in London, they're lovely! In a similar bracket to GBK but (in my view) much tastier. Sure it's only a matter of time before they sprawl outside the smoke...

I lost about 6 stone from cutting out high calorie stuff as much as possible - like beer, icecream, burgers, chocolate, cake, nuts. Then i tried to strike a balance where the exercise cancelled out the beer and food and put about 2.5 stone back on  so now im back to eating healthily and exercising more, but I so envy people who effortlessly find the right balance :hungry:

Edit: I dont like those GBK type places were the burgers cheap but you pay like £6 for a half pint bottle of euro lager, id rather cycle round testing out pub burgers
