Abundance of punctures

I was riding with a guy who always pumps his tyres up to over 110 psi, last month, on a sunny day. When we stopped, he put his bike in a spot where the sun was able to heat up his tyres quite nicely. Cue the 'pop hiss'. If the sun is shining, I keep my tyres just below 100 psi.

I did 4800 miles without one last year on fresh tyres. Have just put new tyres on and psssssstttt I get a flat. Typical

I haven't had a puncture since I switched to Schwalbe Land Cruisers. They might be 50% more than the cheapest tyres but they're worth it.

We use relatively fragile but light and smooth-riding Veloflex tyres and we only get 2-3 punctures a year, summer and winter.

Probably jinxing myself here, but...

Only been cycling 9 months - but my first change to my bike was putting Schwalbe Marathons on. Found them a bit heavy/slow, so changed for Gatorskins. Haven't had a single puncture to date.

Touch wood!
