Looking at the pics. The shifters are Sram so would guess the gearing is too.

Why so ? Its 1 lever instead of 2 ive used both and found Sram alot easier to use than Shimano. Guess its just what your used to. Unless OP has upgraded anything it should be Sram Apex which i found very good.

As you say its just what your used to, I ride shimano at home but spend many months abroad (hence the hunt for a second bike ) occasionally I manage to borrow one and its usually Sram gearing, simply not for me I'm afraid.
