I'm midway through a major upgrade to my Colnago, almost entire group set and wheels.
So the levers have arrived with black cables, although I wasn't expecting cables, and they certainly weren't described as coming with cables.
So in the meantime, I ordered a pretty red Jagwire set. I thought they'd go nicely with the little red spoke nuts and hubs on the new wheels.
Of course I realise this is just useless bling.
My question is - are red cables really naff, and return them, or should I just enjoy them while they're new and clean and keep the black set for spares?
The wheels, by the way are Mavic Ksyrium Elites. I've done a test 30-ish miles on them, and can honestly say they fly. They're also a lot more comfortable than the Campag Zondas they are replacing. In some ways a little too comfortable, as I prefer a little more feedback from the road. Totally recommended, though.

Here's another angle for decising on the cables. Almost any cable is better than Jagwire and if the shifters are either Shimano or Campagnolo, they certainly came with better quality cables than the red ones.

As for the wheels, I doubt they are more comfortable than the old wheels since wheel compliance is measured in microns and tyre and saddle compliance in millimeters.
