There's some confusement around rim tape width.
My bicycles rim has a 22 mm inner width, and the dealer placed a 22 mm tape. Much time later when I had to replace the inner tube I noticed that the tape went from left to right around the circumference. I had to place a 25 mm tape to make it completely cover the inside. Why: because width figures are linear, while a rims shape is a curve, thus longer than the straigth distance.
