Write to the council legal department (email or recorded post) stating the hedge is a hazard, state the local legislation, and then make it clear that any injuries or damage you sustain on the path, after having notified them you will be suing through the small claims court, as like with potholes once they are aware of a hazard and fail to take action within their powers, they are legally liable.

Yes our local council does the same.

If the hedge isn't getting trimmed keep pestering the council and they'll sort it out.

I was bothered by overhanging tree branches which were catching the top of my motorhome and could cause a lot of expensive damage to roof furniture. I went into our local council office to ask for them to take action and the problem was fixed by the next day.

just got back from my walk. Yes,i walked past the pavement blocking overgrowth again. This time to take some pics of the house the hazard belongs to. First we have what looks like a brand new Jaguar Chelsea tractor.

Then we have a backyard full of crap.

And this is the house itself.

A bloody big brand new Chelsea tractor,but a backyard full of crap and that crap's been there for years folks.

Talk about fur coat and no knickers!!!!
