Having fallen off my old bike a couple of weeks ago (Raleigh Equipe) and damaged the forks I have bought two bikes, not new, but in good condition. Another Raleigh racer and a Trek mountain bike.

Previously, I would cycle without gloves, but since I've changed bikes the palms of my hands seem sore, I don't it's anything to do with my fall. Maybe it's the new handle bar layout on the racer and the different grips on the mountain bike.

It's time i got a decent pair of padded gloves, so are they any good recommendations.
I don't wear colourful cycle gear, so don't see a need in buying, say a Sky Pro Cycling pair, but do want something decent.

Thanks for any input.

Watching track cycling on Eurosport and the commentators mentioned that Sir Chris Hoy wears golf gloves while riding, so maybe that's an idea .. maybe not.

The full finger and fingerless from Decathlon are fine, the full ones are also really warm.

I have had a pair from asda full fingered ones for £8 for over a year and they are brilliant. Just make sure they fit properly and you can stick them in the wash.

Does he bollocks.

Anyway Specialized BG gloves are good, lots of padding where required.

Yup, the spesh ones are good, but expensive.

BUT

From my experience of the cheaper gloves you will probably only get a season out of them. Im on my second season with my BG Gel (£27) and they still feel better than budget. Im sure I will get this season out of them, and probably then next one too. So that will be 3 years for 27, less than a tenner a year and for superior quality.

If you can afford them, get them!
