I've only just popped into this thread because it reminded me of my time at Stanley's, first, as a dry tool grinder, and then, as a wet tool grinder. Dry tool grinding made your snot red, the grit from the wet grindstones made your trousers self-destruct. Anyone with a plane from the late 70s might have my tool in their hands.
