Dave take it easy on the bike. There is absolutely no reason people should be coming off their bikes if they ride appropriately. Even less reason anyone should come off and be injured in such a way as to need medical help. Just ride appropriately and you return home exercised and zero injury. Yes you can't hurtle down that road or hill, yes you can't brake last minute (if that's your style), yes you probably won't set any Strava PBs. But you'll get some exercise and be able to avoid the usual things that might have brought you off your bike when riding without a care in the world.

Ride like you're a 90 year old going 3 miles to the paper shop on a sit up and beg bike.
It was nothing like that. New bike. Wider bars. Mis judged a U turn. I had just enjoyed a 20 miler but simply misjudged it. But I take your well meant comment. Thank you.

How are you supposed to buy food?

Food and stuff is okay, but no leisure cycling as far as I can tell.

Actually, it may be that they haven't even thought of it, and I'm interpreting "travel" to include "cycling" because that's how I travel...

im time limited to how long mrs ck can cope with kids so a couple of hours is about all i get ,maybe 35-38 miles

It all counts. I have too make sure my Good Lady wife has had her breakfast and her medication before I can go out, and I can't get back too late as I need to get her something to eat when I get back, our main meal is in the evening so I'll get her a Sandwich or something similar.

Really enjoyed getting out on my ebike today, even more so as its new and i've hardly rode it since getting it 6 weeks ago...... great weather as well. Also I felt loads better for it, physically and mentally.
Really annoying i may not be able to use it for months now.

One thing i have to do to it, is chop down the bars... 700mm is stupidly wide for a hybrid.

If that's the climb near Atherstone near the quarry :notworthy:. I've done it once and once only

Thats the one, turn right by the church on the 4111 and onto quarry lane, through the lights, over the narrow bridge the turn right and start climbing.

I'm not kayaking as the RNLI are too busy picking up migrants in the channel ;)

Nah, you carry on, just don't bother to 'ship the plug'.

The worst part of this whole affair has been the self righteous brigade who've some how managed to go shopping, walking or just outdoors in general, then berated everyone else who did the same.

If smugness cured this bl**dy virus, then it'd have only lasted a day.
