I was considering changing my cassette for a ride tomorrow so dug into the parts bin and discovered a particularly racy effort that I'll not be subjecting myself to in the hills of Northumberland.

I had a bit of a Google as this seemed an odd ratio but couldn't find anything that matched.

So, have I got something super-exotic that I should keep in unused condition as a potential family heirloom?

Or, have I bought a cassette with a missing cog? It was second hand and if that's the case it'll be getting used when I man up and take on a time trial.

They are known as "corncob" cassettes and are quite common, really useful on a flattish TT to maintain cadence. I have a similar one but its a 10 which then has 21 23 above the single tooth step ( Record)

Cheers dude. I suspected it was a common affair. I was just wondering if it was a particular version, Centaur, Chorus etc. any idea of how I might be able to tell?

I'd probably have been alright with it today. 80 not very hilly km from Haltwhistle to Newcastle in glorious sunshine.
