My Carlton is now complete, I took her out for a quick run ,feels really good , the bike is very nicely balanced on the road I've weighed it on the scales at 20.4 ibs or 9.4 kgs , which I think is pretty light for a steel bike

PS 9.4 kg is good. My Herety is 9kg (ish) but the 7400 series stuff wasn't made with being light - it was robust. This stuff just keeps working. Japanese engineering at it's best.

These old bikes were surprisingly light, given the weight penalty of steel frames - it's a good 1kg heavier (with forks) than an alloy or carbon frame set.

I have a nod amberwall set of corsa tyres keep in mind for the bike but the rubber tread cracked up when I put pressure in them, so I've just used the yellow corsas they nos and there nice running.
