I too shall doff my hat to you sir, congrats all round, you are a shining beacon to all of mankind who has ever turned a pedal.

I thank you all for your best wishes - thats the kind of encouragement I need - with respect to how long will it take me - at my age I dont like to make predictions like that - when I awake every morning I move my elbows out just to make sure there is no wood on ether side - however Im setting out at 5:30 am - and I hope to have my second pint in my had at 5:30 pm - cheers

well I did it - however I was not happy with the time of 11 hours 19 mins - I did not realize how cold it would be at 5:30am - i Should have worn winter clothing until about 8:30 - however the one thing that kept me going was the little chap I was ridding for - I forgot to mention I cycled 141 miles and not 142 - because of the mental battle that
goes on at times during ride - when I finished I was to everyones amazement - quite disapionted

That's great. You are going to live forever, you know that, right?

Hope you didn't go crazy with boredom.

Did I miss the link to donate? Let us help the little chap, too.

I truly think that you are part god. That is an amazing achievement indeed and I can only hope to be able to do even a quater of that distance when I reach your age. You are an inspiration to us all.

Just to echo all the other comments, that's hugely impressive despite your own disappointment at the time. I just hope to still be able to ride a bike when I'm a pensioner!
