Most people are going to be very reluctant to recommend you a fork. As was mentioned earlier the Suntour forks have a very bad reputaion amonst MTBs and the likes of the Reba are expensive; and they wont do much for reducing vibration anyway. Most people (as in the previous thread) are going to suggest wider tyres!

If it was me and I had to keep the 700c wheels I would probably go for an entry level rockshox fork. One of the standard 26" versions. Your 700c wheels (with narrow tyres and disc brakes) should fit.

Have a look here for prices; but go and get it fitted at a shop.

There could be loads of complications. Your brake hose might not be long enough. A suspension fork could dangerously upset the way the bike handles or invalidate your warrenty. Your tyres might be too wide to fit in a 26" fork.

i like the way some folk are suggesting you buy a mtb. if they had any idea what they were talking they would know the badboy is a MTB with 700c wheels.

as suggested, check the STW classifieds. you will find a decent fork over there fairly cheap.
if you want new, you can't go far wrong with this zocchi from Merlin

Having ridden MTB's with 700c wheels, i think it will be fine.

Thanks Steve. What would be the main differences between the fork you suggest and this one:

I appreciate that I have linked to a Suntour NRX S RL 700C see the following link for more details on the Suntour website:

Although I am interested in views on the comparative 'quality' of the two forks, I am foremost interested in a comparison of the size, fitting of the two forks with 700c wheels. i.e. which would fit 'better' and have the most flexibility with tyre choice for example.

The specification of my bike from the official cannondale site is as follows:
http://gb.cannondale.com/bikes/08/ce/model-8BRS.html

I appreciate there a a few links to follow there, so thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time and thanks to everyone for their replies so far.
