Cheers Dayvo ! When my Mom n Dad named me Kevin (or was it Elmer ??), they picked it as a name that couldn't be shortened (EH !).
(Move forwards 21 years), In the snooker room at the Batchley club, my best friends name was, you guessed it, Kev ! If I shouted do you want a beer Kev? 8 other people would turn round !!! But at least I was one of the first (as in eldest !!)

Sounds a popular name up north! Why's that? After Kevin Keegan or Kevin Beattie?

Originally a Brummie Dayvo, and it was a v. popular name down there.

It's like up here, there are a hell of a lot of Daves, Carolines & Janices (and I'm with one of them, and it's not a Dave !!).

Yeah, bloody Daves everywhere. Especially in Essex. There were four in my junior school class, loads at my cricket club. Daves rule!
