Im now looking at yet another flat tyre and thinking these gatorskins are no good !
I was browsing in Evans today and noticed some tyres with lines on the out side of them , I forget the name as I was looking at lots of things  Are they any better or is schwalibubble the only way for more protection ?

I posted earlier this autumn about all my punctures on Gatorskins. Next year I shall be buying myself some Schwalbes! That said, I've now been checking my tyres before riding for any flints (etc) and I've now managed four rides on the trot with no punctures (albeit only one of my tyres is now a Gatorskin), so maybe the fault was mine...

All from the road . The first was something that flicked up and hit the wall so fair play but the others have been from the road . Glass have been the latest three .

I was going to put gators on the commuter, but went with 4seasons instead

Of the three puncture resistant brands I've used, Gatorskins win hands-down for being the worst.

I will go back to the Bontrager ones when I wear these out. I've used Armadillos before and they were quite good, but they are quite heavy from memory.

As a serial Gatorskin user I find them fine as long as you keep them properly inflated, ie 100psi. On the rare occasion I get regular punctures it's always been Conti's way of telling me I worn them out.

I think and say this from experience, that as the OP above said keeping your tyres pumped up should stop the majority of punctures. I don`t think it matters what make heard stories about all types good or bad.

I check them at least once a week and reinflate to 100 psi . They have normally dropped a bit , is that normal ?
