@Marmion , where did you stay last year in Gent? Assuming you'd recommend it? My place was a bit, errrm, basic.

The standard rooms were less grand than those pictured, but were of a good standard and had decent showers and a safe in the room for passports etc.

The front of house staff were very good, breakfasts were excellent and plentiful, and the happy hour in the bar was "flexible" in that the barman waited til we got back and then gave us an hour of 2 for 1 drinks if it was roughly within 2 hours of the usual time slot

We got it for £30 pppn which was a bargain. I think I booked it via otel.com but can check later to see if my recall is correct.

It was situated very close to some excellent beer cellars, the closest, Dulle Griet, being a 2 minute walk across the square. De Trollenkelder was a further 2 minutes away, and Het Waterhuis aan de Bierkant was probably 5 minutes walk.
