None of the family in the house when I got home so I have to tell someone about it. 40.88 miles in 2 hours 51mins 30 secs at an average of 14.3mph. Been planning this mentally for weeks and picking the brains of many of you on the forum by reading your chats. At my age (62) I didn't want to let myself down. Before today my longest was 28.7 miles and I just take water on that ride. Any shorter rides I have never bothered with anything.
So today it was a homemade drink 50/50 fruit juice/water & pinch of salt plus a banana and Nutrigrain fruit bar.
As it turned out only ate the banana after 16 miles and sipped on the drink. Checked when I got home and found that I only drank 150ml. Perhaps I need to up this in future. Body feels fine as well (might not look it though)
