Just back from a quick half hour out on my mountain bike, as I only had a short amount of time free. I'm really lucky that we have hilly fields 2 minutes from the house which I've walked regularly with the dog and thought would be ideal for the bike. I knew it wouldn't be too long before I had my first mishap and I wasn't wrong. I was heading up the grassy hill and the front wheel got caught on a big lumpy bit that I couldn't see. I could feel the bike tipping over to my right which was far from ideal as the ground dipped down right at that point. It was then like slow motion. I knew I was going over and all I could do was relaxing body and hope that I landed on a soft bit of ground, which thankfully I did. No war wounds to be proud if today, just dirty knees on my trousers.
For all it was only half an hour today, it was much better than not getting out at all. The hills are great for us to explore as they're literally on the doorstep. Came home and did what I yell at my husband for - I walked my mucky bike through the house on the floor that I'd cleaned just before going out - oops. I was a good girl though and cleaned all the mud off the bike
