Horses have to be fed, watered, mucked out and exercised regardless of which chinless wonder from the aristocracy is getting hitched.

Sitting outside pubs in Norwich, and a mate of mine came up from London for the day. The all-day opening for pubs on that day was a big thing at the time, and I made sure I didn't see a single second of the TV coverage of events in Westminster.

I was 9, so I went to the street party on the estate. I think I went to the fancy dress party dressed as an Arab, but the little kids dressed as Charles and Diana won. A fix, I tell you...
