I agree two wheelsets, but would make them more specific. One road wheelset, say A23 rims on disc hubs, with fast road tyres and dedicated road cassette (closely spaced). One CX wheelset, if you are racing you WILL want tubs, so Major Toms again laced to disc hubs, and better make this one 32H, three cross, and as big a sprocket as your RD will handle (28-32t).


£1000 from your friendly wheelbuilder for the pair. And a bike that really will do it all.

Think I'd leave it as it is for the CX and off road stuff and with the £1500 buy a carbon PlanetX or Ribble to use for the sportives and audax's.

I live in a flat and I can only have one bike or I would have bikes for different uses and not wheelsets.

Don't worry lots of wheelsets is where it's at. Just counting now - hmm I have 6 bikes, and 11 wheelsets and just mustering up budget for a
12th ^_^

All the more reasons to get a good set of handbuilt wheels. There is no reason to get 29r wheels by the way, 700c all the way. More choice and cheaper.
