Seriously impressive from Brennan to keep it going and destroy Groves - less so from Del Grosso, probably gave up enough ground to win by moving across the road while looking backwards.

Hi everyone btw.

Early in the season but this is certainly a top 5 wins of the year for Brennan. Dunno what happened to Del Grosso? Should've taken the Kristin Faulkner approach and driven to the line.

Not sure how much work he had done during the stage. Blew up completely despite not really having that long to go after the descent. Alpecin definitely with egg on their face after their stellar MSR.

Late to watch this stage but Brennan wow !
Yea it's early days but he really does look like the real deal...starting that sprint and beating Groves was class.
Same again today Matty.

Lol, Sivakov just called Esteban Chaves a "female parent fornicator" at extremely high volume, I didn't see what Chaves had done

that was mighty mighty impressive

I wonder if he was ever on Ineos's radar or is that another sign of their demise that they aren't picking up the best british youngsters?

I think young British riders have realised that there are other ways of progressing than through Ineos.

Oscar Onley and Max Poole at DSM/Picnic, Gloag (and now Brennan) at VLAB, EF and FDJ have had their share of British lads come through

It's interesting though that Visma are probably the most Ineos(Sky)-like team, it's them now (Jonas especially) being accused of being robotic and anti-romantic data-munchers
