2025 targets

The last two years my annual target had been the year number in miles. Last year I aced it, clocking up over 2,200 miles. This year I have failed. Mostly due to two months off the bike because of a back injury. I managed to get back on track but with the finishing line in sight, December came along and took away days of riding (a week’s holiday for one thing, plus Christmas and such). I am going to fail by about 100 miles. However, without the goal in place I would not have got even that close, because it definitely got me out on the bike when I could easily have not bothered.

However with my impending redundancy and hopeful early retirement I am expecting to ramp it up a lot next year. I’ll set the goal as 2025 miles and see how it goes.

86.2kg despite an absolutely gluttonous Christmas, due to a fairly horrendous flu/COVID in early December. Probably aim for more moderation in january

The much missed @theboxers used to do a yearly goals thread, felt wrong not to have one now.

If anyone has any mileage or specific goals inside (any app) or outside feel free to post and track it here.

I haven't set any except to enjoy my cycling as much as possible (quantity and quality) indoor and out.

I would like to get back to Sapphire again as soon as possible. I did just shy of 500 hours in 2024 which turned out to be more indoor than out. But I enjoyed some lovely gravel bike rides on the local bridleways exploring to collect VeloViewer tiles.
