Too far away for me.....got a fair few planned in sunny Scotland though!!

Hello Fran

Yes - in spite of what people say Scotland can be very sunny - I used to climb Ben Nevis in the mid-1990s - 5 yrs on the trot in May - 70F at sea level but at the top -20F - the one thing i will never forget are the number of different single malt whiskys - that is another hobby of mine.

Sorry to gatecrash, but is there a decent online calendar of 2012 Sportives/Audax/organised rides. Would like to do 1 or 2 next year to see if it's my cup of tea.

Cheers

+ 1 for this post!

I would like to find a good list for 2012 Sportives and Audax rides within reasonable distance of South wales and a realistic entrance fee!

The Audax list is OK! but the Sportive List is England! Didn't even mention the Dragon series of sportives! Don't have a list for Wales do you?

The Cyclosport listings don't get updated very early for the new year - "opportunity to plug" ... the events I organise Shakespeare SPRING 100 (new for 2012) in April and Shakespeare 100 in September are listed ... and they're also in the events listing on the Comic's website. Details at www.shakespeare100.org.uk with secure online entry.

I will probably do the Peak 100, The Macc Monster and The Macclesfield Bikeathon as they are all local good value and proper charity rides. I quite fancy doing one in Cumbria and maybe one in Scotland but haven't decided which yet.
