I'm 40 and doing my first century in September so I'm with you!!! I'm going to do an 80 and an 85 miler in the preceding weeks, the jump won't be quite as far on the day. So far, my tips have been a) chamois cream b) cake c) gradually increasing distance by 5 miles/week.

You've got this!

So her next ride will be 130 miles???
That's the plan. It's actually not that bad to do 130, once you've already covered the initial ton on a ride. Your legs and head go all warm and tingly, and you just think sod it may as well keep going:okay:

I've done a couple of 100 mile rides, my most recent one without much training. My 3 top tips for doing a ton are as follows:

1. Pace yourself - If you normally average 15mph take the first 40 a little slower
2. Hydration - Drink drink and drink
3. Food - Take plenty, eat often

I take caffeine gels too for the last 20 miles when I'm struggling, a little boost to get me over the line.

Good luck!!!
