keep an eye on him and judge whether hes ok to continue no shame in cutting short and heading home early , better that than an injury or putting someone off the sport because its just torture .
sounds like he would be weary legged but capable though
good luck .

im 14 now and last year i did a ride similar to this. the first 15 miles were rough trails and then i went and rode an easy trail for about another 15-20 miles. but note that i do that first 15 mile loop every weekend.

Thanks for that,interesting to hear from someone a similar age. We have done a few shorter trails since then and he knows now that he needs to put a few miles in training before we tackle anything too long.

Had a look in your profile,Ive got to ask what on earth is "rage froobling" ?
