+1 for checking with your fingers holding some light tension on the inner cable where it emerges from the lever. If the cable is not moving, then it's not connected properly inside the lever or the lever itself is u/s.

In between here and there
Tony is this my one? It was deffo working when it came off, as mentioned above try holding the cable to ensure its moving with the lever movement?

Also pull the cable tight when it is on the 11t not mega tight but defintely not slack

Sorry just been to check. There is no groove on the 105 mech, it's straight from the adjuster to the clamp that holds the cable.

I've never had to change the 105 cable and I just remembered screwing up the SRAM on by missing the groove. Apologies.

I'll have a look what condition the lever is in. I know it's fully working but it may be scraped and scratched.
No worries, I couldn't find a groove anyway ;)

Here's the pictures. I've tried to show all the marks. As I said it works fine just cosmetic damage.

Martint235, I must apologise for the delay in responding - bit of a mad week so little chane to get back to my roadie.
Just got to it, took the shifter off, eventually got the cable out and...bingo!
It was me being a Richard head.
Where the cable nipple goes on the carrier, the is a slot runs fr about 15mm then widens, it's where t widens that I had fed he cable through - all sorted now.

That's what I get for working on it til 11.30 at night...you make mistakes

No worries. Glad you got it sorted!

I tend to make a mistake the first time I try anything. It then costs me a fortune to get my "handiwork" and the original problem fixed.
