105 front mech not trimming

Had a little play now, found that the cable was a tiny bit too tight. Didn't touch the front mech or lever just slackened the cable so that on its loosest point it was just short of floppy. That's a technical term for not tight for the uninitiated! Hope this helps you.
Yep seems to work thanks , although I can't get the correct tension if I loosen the cable to much the trim function works but I'm unable to get enough tension to pull the mech toward the upper limit stop, so it looks like I'll need to add barrel adjuster :/

Shoot...after a little tinkering last night, the front mech has started to drop onto the small ring when I'm in the last three (LG cogs) in the rear.....Grrrr

Big ring to last 2 or 3 sprokets (largest) is a no no as you are running the chain at a poor angle. If I run my road bike or MTB on small ring and small sprockets, the chain tries to shift up to the big ring due to the shifting ramps. It's likelty that's happening to you, but down.

I know its found upon but before I messed with it it was fine(ish) so I know I've knocked it out, I will have to break out the spanners keys at lunch time.
