Hi,

I'm looking to replace my front derailleur and was wondering if I'll be running into problems using a 105 10sp (5600) with my current Tiagra 9sp (4500) groupset. I know the 10sp chains are slightly narrower but expect there will still be clearance. I'm unsure what "Applicable chain line" means, as the 2 derailleurs vary - Tiagra 43.5mm, 105 45mm.

Thanks in advance.

A 105 FD will work fine
I think the 45mm chainline is only for triple

Bought myself one from Chain Reaction yesterday actually. Thanks for the heads up. Ribble are selling the 5600/5650 chainsets for as little as £63.96 too! Anyone know why 105 is going down in price so much? It's cheaper for me to buy it than replace the Tiagra currently on my bike!
