It's a good achievement. I was pleased with my first 1000km, then the first 1000 miles, then 2000km (then my bike was nicked).

I'm averaging 15km a day (7.5km to work, 7.5km back Mon-Fri, and typically 15km to somewhere and 15km back most weekends). That gives 1000 miles in 15 weeks! But I have it set to kilometres, since I like higher numbers -- I got to 1000km in under 10 weeks :-)

Well done stig, 2000 by the new year ;-)
That'd be an average of 7 miles a day. Apart from the time thing, I don't know if my hips would hold out running that far. Maybe I'll set it as a target for next year.

For the record, I'm well past the 1000 miles on the bike, it's just I thought it was a bigger acivement doing it on foot. Anyway, thanks for the nice comments,

Stig

Good stuff! ;) Each mile cycled (commuting) is a mile less driven/bused/trained etc, so it's got to be a good thing!

That is good going - average of 30+ miles running a week (every week) plus the cycling. I also run but not going too well this year, probably at about 600. Congrats!

Oh hold on a minute! I really should read posts properly! You've ran 1000 miles. Oh. Well. That makes it just that wee bit more impressive!

(not as much fun I would imagine though! ;))
