‘Run Of The Mill’, But Curious For Some Reason

Thursday 28th

We’ve just spent a cold couple of hours, with the ‘wallpaper remover’ (one of the steam type) removing the decals & ‘wrapped’ rear-window, from the wifes ‘works Van’
The business has been sold/clients transferred/etc, so this will be sold (& like everything else split 50-50, with her business partner)

It looks naked now!!

We've transferred the Yaris, from being owned by the business, earlier today to SWMBO's name
She decided that it was worth keeping, & saved looking for another vehicle, now that the Q3 has been sold
(I get to keep my Kodiaq!!)

It's also been re-insured in her name, & the 'VED' sorted out, due to the transfer of ownership (both online)

To my surprise it's rated at '£0'!!!!
Amusingly, there's no option of a 6monthly 'taxation', just the 12 months

But......
There's an issue with one of the key fobs........ it doesn't work
Whether there's a dry joint, or such, I'm not sure, but I'd sooner have a spare key

That's to be looked at

After going to the caravan site, l had to go straight into Wakefield (A1 > ‘HookMoor’ > M1)
On my way home, a Vauxhall car pulled out of the main-dealer, at Wakefield Bridge
It had an illuminated horizontal stripe, & ‘Vauxhall’ was also lit
No idea what model it was?

I don’t recall seeing an illuminated badge on anything but a ‘3-pointed star’ on a M-B tractor-unit

Plus; when did Vauxhall stop using the Griffin? (or was it a Wyvern?)
It's a griffin, and they still use it.

I suspect what you saw was an after-market mod.

Just seen a TV advert, a Grandland Hybrid

Sunday 26th

I’ve just driven to work in the Corsa, as it’s not moved for a few days

The trip was reset, after the MOT test, which was on Wednesday 4th September
It’s not covered a lot of miles!

I took it to work, as it’s not moved since l put it on the driveway, almost as soon as the Q3 disappeared around the corner (it was sold on Monday 3rd Feb)
It turned over to that mileage, about half-way home

Still an untouched trip-meter (see quote)

I went to work in the car yesterday, & saw this in the car-park, as l was heading home

What a chump!
What an utterly imbecilic place to put those permits!
I’ll guess that’s it’s a permanent position, as they’ll be one for ‘this’ site, & the other for a different Hospital within the group

I’m on a/l now, till Wed 5th, but l’ll be going to the car-parking office when l get back, asking them to get in touch, suggesting that it’s a damned idiotic place to have them

I crouched down, so my head was at head-rest height, & it blocked my view of where a drivers head would be, so the opposite would be true too

A while ago we removed the vinyl lettering (as used on trucks/vans)

However, SWMBO washed it a couple of days ago, & remnants of the adhesive are collecting dirt, & it can be felt too

What’s the best way of removing it
We’ve tried acetone/nail varnish remover, but to not much effect

Will white spirit/turpentine do the job?
Thanks!

What it looked like before, so you can see how much we removed

Rust removing penetrating oil, will break down the glue, you may find however that the paint has faded on the car, & not where the letters have been, & it needs a damn good T-cutting to get rid of it
