Having spent a lot of time cycling the wonderful cycle routes in Europe that have little or no car access, I thought I’d ask for recommendations here. I’d like to set the bike up with some rides over the next few months.
Does anyone have any suggestions for car free long routes? I’m lucky in...
Greetings from Esslingen, south Germany
We're a cycling family and once again we are running out of bicycles, as the Elder Son is as tall as me and really needs a bike of his own for visiting Girlfriend etc.
Thing is, he would really like a retro styled drop handlebar bike, and we're on a...
Does anyone ever do a cycle touring with a trailer like below picture ?
I'd like to know cycle touring with this kind of trailer would be safe(easy control)
while going up uphill and downhill(especially with a heavy load) ? Welcome to
post/share your experience or story, thank you.
Due to I’ve heard something that surprised me a lot( or should I said shocked me
a lot) here. So I really would like to know or hear some other voice on this topic.
If you’re working as a police or a related government officer( such like Justice Dept.,
Interior Administration Dept. or...
I received a Garmin Edge Touring for my birthday. I am very pleased with it. However, it appears to do a Map update just about every time I connect to my computer. The update runs and completes satisfactorily. Is anyone else experiencing these very frequent (ie almost daily) map updates?
1980 Copenhagen Pedersen. 7-speed Nexus hub, 26 in frame (33 leg). Needs service.
I bought this beauty a year ago, but sadly it doesn't get used anymore.

Should a bike theft happened to any touring cyclist ?
If you ever lost your bike in a cycle touring, please share some of your story here,
and did you find back your bike at last? Also how do you prevent losing your bike
again?
Or if you’re just happened to be a bike thief, would you steal a...
Anyone know of any touring club in Manchester or surrounding area where the emphasis isn't speed but is nice long leisurely rides and where having a lightweight carbon road bike isn't a requirement
Just wondering if any of you have made plans for your 2018 cycling tours and whether you are going to be revisiting somewhere you've been before or trying pasture new?
Currently have Truvativ Hussefelt pedals used mainly for commuting but I've started to go on distance rides, nothing spectacular yet but upping the mileage each time I go out. The pins on the pedals have all but worn away on both sides so in need of some new ones especially with the wetter...
Hi I currently ride with a group that do the usual week night rides with a chance of a longer ride on a weekend, however I notice that in my area nearly all the clubs cater for a head down and ride hard type club although the banter & pace do vary. I just wondered if anyone knew of any clubs...
Does anybody have experince of a) taking children touring and b) knowledge of the Eurovelo 8 from Barcelona to Montpellier .
I have daughters aged (next year) 11 and 13 who are reasonably keen on cycling and ,for what I think would be an eventful holiday, I though we could fly Easyjet with...
LittleKnees currently has a Decathlon 20" bike, which she rather likes, but it is rather heavy - it has 6 gears but she told me that she's never used 4 5 or 6, and I've noticed that even on the flat she's in 2nd. This may be an issue with it being over-geared too (I've not counted teeth) but the...
Hi all, been away from this forum for quite some time but thought I'd come back in search for a bit of advice!
Having a discussion last week with my girlfriend about what kind of (ultra) low budget holiday she'd be up for the idea of touring round europe on a tandem, this was a very pleasant...
A very reluctant sale of my Paul Hewitt Cheviot Reynolds 631 touring bike.
This is a stunning bike that is in excellent condition. The paint is flawless.
It is a large size frame.
The geometry can be found on Paul Hewitt's website:

It is...
A beautiful 53 cms Kona Sutra in dark metallic green which I bought new in 2012.
It's in very good condition having always been protected with helicopter tape.
Not been used for two years so could probably do with a bit of fettling and adjustment and the bar tape needs redoing, but in excellent...

I had a bit of an issue with my Garmin Touring today. It switched itself off after about 3 hours, battery was on 55%.
When I got home and connected it to Garmin Express and it said error syncing and today's' ride is showing as invalid file. The ride also hasn't transferred to Strava.
Any ideas...

I'm looking for a way of storing spare tube, mini tool, levers and a few bits and bobs. I love the saddle bags Carradice offer in terms of practicality but they're not really easy to get on and off. So, I'm after something that can be taken on/off easily, isn't massive and ideally has the retro...
This bike has a nice lightweight aluminium frame bike with carbon forks, high spec components (you can see them in the photos eg Shimano 105 gears, RX100 brakes, Stronglight Cranks) and suspension seat post, half mudgards, rear rack, 28x700 tyres, Rixen Kaul fitting on handle bars and a Rixen...
I am looking for a new commuter bike and general use bike, mainly for towpaths, unsurfaced roads, cycle paths etc. I was leaning towards the Trek 520 Touring but then discovered the Adventure Bikes.
Anyone have much experience of these? I won't be carrying loads, just clothes for the week...
Anyone going to this? Pretty impressive line up of speakers and subjects. Closing date for getting tickets is this Friday

Has anyone got the 2017.10 cycle maps onto the Garmin Edge Touring (plus)?
Mine had a firmware update, but trying to update the maps it says there isn't enough space in internal memory. The device of course only uses a micro SD card, and there should be enough space. I've put in a new blank...
