I have for sale a 58cm Raleigh Esquire that has had a full rebuild and Professional custom respray. The paint is a copper/gold with black highlights. The bike has had a new Bottom Bracket fitted along with new headset bearings. I also had the original chain guard repainted in the same colour as...
I have done many hundreds of miles on my old 1990s M-TRAX.
The tubes are bonded into the lugs, given the bikes age and mileage, what is the life expectancy of the bond?
I've tried a bit of research but am unable to find any reliable info.
I'm thinking about changing my chainring to a smaller 34T on my 1985 Raleigh Record Sprint, so I can get up the steeper inclines, it has the Sugino GT chainset.
I think it's a 110mm BCD, but I'm not sure.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

For some while I've had an itch for a 3 speed Sturmey Archer bike, don't know why, just have. Probably dates back to the 70's when I had a Raleigh singlespeed and on way home from school used to regularly race someone else going home from his work and he'd always beat me and I'd shout "it's only...
I've been watching the city centre racing and I really like the appearance of the Raleigh bikes. I am a sucker for a Raleigh as I had a Pacer as a kid and loved it.
Anyone got any knowledge or experience of their mid range (£1-2000) bikes/any comments or insight into their quality?
Had a message from a chap I met through eBay (previously bought a Carlton frame and a Raleigh flyer from him) saying he had a bike I might be interested in. My mate and I had been talking about doing a project together so this seemed like the ideal opportunity. All we knew was that it was a 531...
Having decided I can't bear to part with my 1950s Raleigh Sports, I'm now going to be selling my 1937 Raleigh Popular - a rare chance to own a piece of cycling history!
Will be putting it up on Gumtree/Ebay in a couple of weeks but CC'ers can have first dibs, since I'd really like the bike to...
Bought this on Ebay this evening, wasn't sure what exactly I had but went ahead and bid on it anyway .
I searched everywhere for a similar one to verify and date it, then just now I found it in the 87 catalogue (by this time I had already won it of course, I was beginning to panic cos...
I am finally getting around to selling one of the two Raleighs I restored a couple of years ago. After much deliberation I've decided to keep the 3-speed 1930s "Popular", and to find a new home for this 1950s "Sports".
Frame size BB centre to top of seat tube: 23" (would suit 5'6" to...
Sold
In good working order, but has been stored for the last 10 years.
The tyres have perished but will be replaced before being sold (they're on order) and I intend to strip the bike, clean and grease everything (and replace cables if required) as I want to know it's in safe working order...
Two Raleigh Transits for sale, want them to go together:
The gents is dated march 1979, the ladies April 1979.
Both are 3 speed Sturmey Archer geared.
Also both bikes are 54cms frame so around medium sized
Original in every way that I can tell, even have the standard Raleigh Record tyres...
I am selling my 2012 model Raleigh SP Comp 54cm as it was too small for me and I bought a new steed.
Would probably suit someone around 5ft8 as im 6ft and found it too small.

I recently renovated my Raleigh Randonneur. I bought the bike new in 1993. Last year I had the frame stripped and re-painted by Ellis Briggs Cycles. At the same time I had the rear end widened from 126mm to 130m (new bridge fitted as part of this) and an additional bottle cage mount added (it...
Hi, I have for sale another bike that needs to go to make room for my latest purchase, this has sat unused since last summer as my wife bought a road bike, not sure what category it falls into as its part MTB part hybrid but we used it on days out with the family and it seems a shame to let it...
A work colleaue was going to fix up his old road bike, but hasnt got the time and feels hes not fit enough to ride it anyway. He has offered it to me, but i don't have time to fix up my old bike. Never mind another one. was going to get it running to a basic standard so anyone at work could use...
The garage is filling up (well, full actually!) and here's the newest addition to the clan. It's been owned from new by the chap I bought it off; he said his dad drove him to Hereford to pick it up and he rode it the 30 odd miles back to Gloucester.
My dad has started to come out with me and looking at getting him a racer....raleigh nova sport 10 speed..it has a little luggage carrier on which he quite fancies.
Has anyone owned one and are they decent...
Thanks.
A (very small, I think it's a 19" or 20") example of an 80s "gaspipe" favourite. I bought this and a Falcon last month off ebay as a doer-upper
This was the pic on ebay. It looked a lot worse in real life!
wheel rims looked quite bad.
Now they look great - from about 2m away!
All the...
A new arrival today: a Raleigh Medale from 1979. 5 speed on a 23" frame with 27" wheels.
It's in decent condition although the mechanicals are very oily (which is good). There's a small patch of rust on the LH side but everything else appears intact and original. Raleigh groupset with...
My previously owned Raleigh has been out on its first few rides and even as a complete novice I have noticed some major drawbacks to buying used stuff you know nothing about.
The bike model is a series 7005 and I need to replace the bottom bracket, the only information I can find is that it is...
All details in the listing. Selling as I now have another bike and could do with the ££ towards my next bike idea  In no rush to sell and Im open to offers from Cyclechat members lower than my BIN price (just PM me)...

I just bought this. I'm pretty certain it's a 50's Raleigh Clubman. Its a shame that it's not in very good condition as these are very rare now. I have suspicions that the brake calipers, levers, mudguards and the gear lever and pulley wheel are all later additions/replacements. Does anyone know...
I picked up a Raleigh Twenty a year or so ago, it was a bit rough, so I gave it a quick strip and repaint but the 3 speed hub was not working too well and the rims were quite rusty so a couple of days ago I thought I'd see if I could update it a bit instead.
I got wheels & deraileur from a kids...
I picked this BSA Twenty up last summer and have only just got around to giving it a check over & clean.
I had to replace a tube and I relocated the front light to the brake mount as before it was in the basket.
This is the second Raleigh to arrive this week, I have wanted a 50's or 60's roadster for a while but wanted one that was fairly practical and useable.
Not done anything other than unpack yet .
But it has a 4 speed hub and a 2 speed block so eight gears , original steel rims have been...
I just bought this. Haven't picked it up yet though. Weather it ends up in my collection or not depends how good the condition is but I can only tell that when I get it. From the pictures it doesn't look too bad. Most of the decals look to be intact, and I'm hoping the frame cleans up well. Its...
Well I opened the garage door's to a couple of Raleigh's this week.
No 1 is an 80's Royal which looks to have had an easy life so far. To get it mobile again it needed a pair of tyres. It will also get some fresh grease in the head set and bottom bracket and cables. So far its covered 6 miles...
