So ive just read the letter that 'We Are Cycling UK' (Formerly known as CTC) sent me. I paid £24 to join as an affiliate of the fridays that it includes 3rd party insurance.
Problem is, that im already insured with BC. Is there a way to discontinue 3rd party via CTC or is the only way forward...
Driven into a cyclist? No problem! Just don't tell the police or your insurer!
"Dennis couldn't have been nicer about the entire incident. We agreed he'd pay for repairs to my bike (£140), which he did, and leave it at that. No police, no insurance, no need really."...
There are frequent threads on here complaining about insurance companies. I often reply that I have never had any problems - but never buy the cheapest policy.
Another example.
Ski accident at the end of Feb, snapped ACL. Claimed for recovery from mountain, medical and physiotherapy cost...
While I'm at home with feet up and not out riding on a nice cool still day like today (see my seizure thread for why rather than throw bricks here please :) )
I'm looking at getting back on the BC bandwagon and joining up. The below clip cut from their Legal support info on the Ride membership...
Ok been doing some research for insurance.
I have taken delivery of a new bike which costs 3k + and my house hold insurance just doesn't cut it for a bike of this value. I have been looking at bike specific insurance but the exclusions lists and things you have to do to ensure compliance so...

Scenario 2
You buy some clothes online that cost £60...

Morning! I guess this comes up a lot and I have found a few sticky posts about it. Has anyone got good clear and first hand knowledge of taking out insurance for their bike and where they have had to claim?
I had a hit & run with a car a few months back where I had no insurance. I lost...
Just had to make a claim on our John Lewis insurance for a number of bikes and accessories that were stolen from the shed.
90% of the process has been stress free. John Lewis agreed to meet the claim in full, with no quibbles. They payed out in cash rather than vouchers or an item from a...
I've just helped a friend buy her daughter a very cheap bike for getting to and from Uni. The parents live on the other side of the world, so the mum was interested in rescue cover, in case her cheap bike breaks down. I feel comforted by having 3rd party insurance. And of course, she's in a...
Hi, as I have now ordered a reasonable bike I'm looking at insurance and would like people thoughts on this. My bike is with £600 and I only have buildings insurance. Would a specific bike insurance be the best way to go & which companies are best to go with?
