Getting home with a flat tubular, fixed using a clincher inner tube?

Hi I'm sure I've read somewhere you can get home with a flat tubular tyre using a clincher innner tube, maybe I dreamed it? I know about Pitt Stop, though a innertube would be ideal for a crawl home fix Anyone know if this would work?

    Cosmic ordering...maybe? What a lucky break/brake...!

My brakes have been very spongy for a while, as I'm new to cycling I've dabbled at trying to fix stuff watching YouTube tutorials, but for whatever reason my brakes seem to be the thing I can't get right. So today, my colleague approached me and said 'Mr Bike' was down in the carpark, fixing...
