I'm thinking of buying a monocle. 🧐 Probably the one below.🤔 It can be bought in 1.5 or 2.00 prescription. My correct reading glass/lens prescription is +1.75, but either would do.

If you want the top one, I'd get it in 2.00, s eyesight tends to worsen as you age, so if you are now 1.75, you are much more likely to vary towards 2.0 than towards 1.5.

Bear in mind you could buy a +2 close up lens for a camera for maybe a tenner. Typical diameter would be 49mm or 52mm which might be a touch on the big size, but a quick ebay search found a 34mm. Alternatively go to specsavers and ask them to run up a 1.75 in whatever diameter seems sensible.

But do Specsavers sell prescription monocles? I've typed it in but I can't find anything about them selling monocles. I suppose I could call into Accrington Specsavers later today and ask if they sell such things. Even if they do though, I think they'd be more practical looking (boring) looking, rather then 'quirky'. 🧐

Seems pretty reasonable for something that's hand woven and blocked. If I were paying less, I'd be worried that someone's not getting paid properly.

Nearly 7 grand for a hat!! Even if I won zillions on the Euro thingy (not that I play it), I just couldn't buy it and wear it without feeling bad. That amount of money could feed an on the breadline family for a year. No matter how well made it is, any hat is not worth that much, unless it's say the one worn by Horatio Nelson at The Battle of Trafalgar.🧐

You'd think with the almost 7 grand price they'd show a photo of the inside of the hat! Obviously it's not lined, but If I was interested I'd like to see the sweatband and the maker's name etc before parting with that much money.

That's the whole point of a "proper" panama hat, it should be able to be rolled up. They also originate from Ecuador, not Panama.
