I am absolutely amazed that you are making this journey and to my benefit and maybe others, could you tell us something about what was the impetus for making it, and is it likely to have a finish?
Lovely pics. I will be riding around Fredericksburg in a few days and will look for the sight you show. I hope you took the opportunity to visit the Pacific War museum whilst you were there, it is the most incredible and evocative display of that WWII theatre of any I have visited.

Schwalbe Marathon MTB on left. 15000kms on fully loaded bike doing mostly dirt roads and trails. They're now $80 RRP each!
Emergency Walmart special @ $20 on right. This only has to last less than a month as I have a new pair of Schwalbes awaiting me in New Mexico.
