Hello.
Been running for years (to many) and peaked at about 70 miles a week about 8 yrs ago when I was running 34min 10km and 1hr15 half marathons.

Age (43) is now catching up with me and I can't seem to stay injury free so just bought a road bike about a month ago.

Longest ride so far is 66 miles in 4hrs 10m and seem to average between 15mph and 17mph for most of my rides so far.
Still struggling with the steeper hills at the moment on 34/25 but am working on it.

I'm just outside of Banbury so ride around the Oxfordshire/Warwickshire/Northants/Gloucesterhire area at the moment.

Slow yourself down with a couple of panniers on the back full of a picnic and you'll see what cycling offers that running can't.

I came into cycling from running too - similar kind of times too! 2h50m marathon, 79m half, 34m 10k.
Best decision I made - it has been so much better for my hips and knees.
