Don't go on the front:smile:. Jeff did well. I think Norris won the event in cat c:thumbsup:

I think I came 7th. I managed to stay with the front group until about 0.6 miles from the end when I lost the wheel. Shame as I seemed to have a bit left for the sprint and had a headwind bonus to use

Still, it smashed my previous highest w/kg in these races.

I used my 49" TV in the pain cave for the first time and I loved racing using it - helped the motivation. Also good to see Jeff and Bob up there.

I kept looking for you when we started. I was pretty sure you weren't behind me... Then I saw a lone green jersey out in front and clearly off my list of riders.. COuldn't be... Well, yes, it was... You seemed to be going from one extreme end of the pack to the other...

And it was a big pack... A small group went off the front near the end of hte 2nd lap and I tried to go with them. The larger pack caught us reasonably quickly and spit me out hte back. A bit of a slog for the last few miles. 15th out of 26 qualified riders on a flat course. Not too good today...

I was wary of being left behind so went off too fast and then a few times foolishly tried to break away an drag others with me. But you were all sensible riding within yourselves as a group so I simply puffed myself out.
My screen always showed you nearby. Jeff. You didn't seem to have any trouble hanging with the fast riders.

Well done Martin. It's always good to hear when others have smashed PB's

Once you came to your senses and rode with the pack you stayed nearby, but you seemed to keep moving from the front to the back and back to the front. Bear in mind that one of the quirks is that what I see isn't necessarily the same as what you see, so it could just be a manifestation of that quirk.

I usually don't have much trouble hanging on for the first 20-30 minutes, but I fade pretty hard, particularly if there's a climb after that first 30 minutes.

Came to my senses ^_^
You are right though.
I can ride consistent power in a chaingang
but couldn't get it right tonight. I was all over the place and will know better next time having been properly schooled tonight!

I essentially try to figure out what's the least amount of power I have to put out to get with the group I want. On a flat race, I'm shooting for the lead group, similarly for the weaker races. If we've got a lot of climbing, I'm going to shoot for the 2nd group. If it's a mass start, I'm lost.

Aim for the stars. My experience of applying power in the Zwift races, is that its very 'on off' albeit near threshold level. Its quite clear to see most riders begin to fatigue by half way, with just the odd rider who can get away. We all seem to have a little left for the final sprint.

That's pretty typical for the Tue/Thu KISS EUR in my experience. If you're looking for a smaller group, the Monday race is generally smaller and weaker competition -- you'll find me there regularly as well.

Thursdays don't often work for me. Tuesday is good as my wife does yoga that evening. I'll have a look at the Monday ones as well.

I like the bigger numbers, I was just surprised there were that many riders.

I think Andy is a GoT fan!

My average watts for my little last last night are 231 so bang on my ftp. Though I only lasted 10 min

Talking serious for a moment. My ftp is 40w below that set on TR about 18m ago. I got near to it June of last year before I had 2 weeks off bike on holiday when lots of walking really buggered up my knee so I know I think I can get back there. Base fitness could be better but is reasonable. So I am asking myself whether best to go for a 4 week ftp builder, perhaps something pretty intense, or just to race 2-3 times per week with sub 2 recovery rides in meantime. Andy or Dean could you look and see if something suitable in TR? I have a bikeless 19 day holiday in just over 4 weeks so could use that as recovery ^_^
