Bob, you've got premium Strava, yes? Please could you do a search on Bedoin to Ventoux for oldies @200lb plus?. Im interested in the spread of times us fatties can achieve

Saying that, I'd bet that there aren't many idiots who would contemplate riding up such a big hill carrying my weight!

Andy, like I said in my write up-I saw all shapes and sizes going up Ventoux ^_^
Gimme Kilo's and I will find one of my colleagues rides. On the hot day I did chalet reynard to Top in 36min though I honestly could have gone a little faster and on the cold day into wind 40m. My 90kilo friends in 1h 5 to 15m. Now we started from hotel so missed out the easy warm up 3km from Bedoin and our ride was Into cold weather and Mistral after chateau reynard. 1h 44 for me and 2h 09 to 2h-30 for heavier colleagues. Add another 10-12 min for the extra 3km.
I can say you are a stronger rider than any of them.

Team bkool vs team splitters would be interesting, if there was a way of making a level playing field, which there isn't at present.

Admittedly it'd be a little predictable... :cuppa:
Predictable and an unlevel playing field, perhaps. But it'd still be a gas to see a few of us in one of the races. I'm in the Tue/Thu KISS EUR race fairly consistently.

Tomorrow will be difficult because I have a mid afternoon sports massage but Thursday is possible. Andy and Dean?

The way I feel right now, no, Im not going near a bike for a month:B)

Just done a full Pretzel, Dean you lucky 'so on so'

I wanted to hold a heart rate of late 150 to mid 160, and pretty much achieved it, but power became erratic, finding my climbing rhythm on the 2nd climb of the mountain took a long time. Its a bloody long ride

Andy, It's a hard ride! Do you reckon you went off a bit too hard? Practically sprinting some of those early bits. 42min is a cracking time

PS
I just realised Dean is faster than me over the full Pretzel. Darn...

Andy I have done it in the time you have once before, it's a tough ride if you don't feel 100% you soon find out .

Maybe a little, I think I suffered with bit of food knock before the 2nd climb. One flapjack mid ride not sufficient. Power fell away by about 35W on the second half, ave speed dropped 0.8mph so not as drastic. I did feel fine up the first mountain and thought the pace was just about right.

The little burst was good fun to wake me up for the climb. I should of gone a few seconds earlier, picked a bigger gear or 2, it felt really easy to make the power and it just kept building. My type of hill -punchy^_^

I now swear by this. Fluid, hydration, energy and protein. I hardly ate anything on my Provence rides and never felt like i was going to bonk. Supplemented with the odd cliff energy bar. Its really handy to have it there when on the turbo too.
