So how come you don't have rest weeks

Cheeky bugger- you not so young yourself. Also, have you looked my times? I am always resting 😁

This week I was supposed to rest Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday. I raced Tuesday because I couldn’t do my endurance ride Sunday so Sunday was a bit of a rest. Nothing to do with tired legs from Saturday - no sir, not at all.

I'm considering it. I was thinking of having a rest day and doing stage 5 again tomorrow instead - but noting the above 👆 I'm starting to think I should MTFU and just go for it tonight after all!

You could look at it another way. If you race today you’ll have more rest days before the next stage opens On Saturday. And you’ve put up a time on stage 5 already so you have that cushion. I don’t think I’ll redo stage 5 myself. I agee with bob it is probably a very good work out. But it’s also a most unpleasant one, so I think I’ll either look for another race or maybe just have a spin ( In zone’s 1 & 3 obviously 😄)

I'm kind of with Bob, and disagree with everyone else in thinking that New York stage was quite a good one. I agree with not liking the look of it and the glass roads, but I don't think I really take so much notice of that kind of thing as some do. I just think the mix of terrain was good and makes for a good race course. It was horribly unpleasant as well of course, but all the stages were and that was down to the effort rather than the graphics for me. I'm tempted to give it another go - will see how I feel when I'm warming up. If not it'll be one of these cheeky zone 2's that are so good for us :okay:

There’s an un written rule that 2 people can’t agree with bob in the space of 24 hours. So I’m afraid I have to disagree on principle!

I did check that no one else had agreed with him before I posted that 👍

I did feel a bit out of synch with the world for a while. I am glad everything is back to normal :okay:

58.40 for stage 5. Rode the hills reasonably well for me. Faded with a few miles to go and rode last 3 just about solo, until caught by group in last mile

Edit. Got a PB for the route Everything Bagel, so pleased with that considering Im a tad under the weather

I just made the mistake of riding the Stage 5 short course at 6pm with a very short warm up. In fact this was supposed to be my warm up for a Flanders training ride at 6-30pm. But I got carried away and raced. Well, tried to. Legs quickly tightened up. after 25 min I kept getting the on screen warning to join the Flanders ride. As I quickly fumbled to use the mouse to avoid an auto join I fell off the back of my group and ended up riding in alone. No PB’s tells a sorry tale.
