I've got into a bit of a rut with eating the same stuff (you know the typical kind of thing for a Scottish diet - deep fried kebabs stuffed with pies, blah, blah, blah...) so just looking for some ideas.

Preferably easily rustled up offerings but I'm not averse to something a bit more than toasting bread and opening a can.

Just fire your head chef and hire a better one?

What about the favourite British food?
Half a kilo of minced or sliced beef strips, can of tomatoes (chopped preferably), jar of Pataks curry paste (hot as you can stand) and a large onion.
Fry the chopped onion till soft, add the beef and brown, then add about two tablespoons of the paste and stir in the tin of chopped tomatoes.
Cook for about twenty five minutes. Serve with rice or chipati or both. Simple.
Should be enough for another meal if only you.

Eggy bread. Whisk a couple of eggs (good for you) mix in a little milk (also good for you). Dip bread in it and fry (keeps you faithful to the brotherhood) repeat until all the liquid has been used.

If you are feeling adventurous serve with beans.

You've given me some ideas there, I'm finding fresh wild salmon, venison and frozen puffin a bit tedious:okay:.

I was in the same boat until I discovered sweet chilli sauce, better than the kebab sauce, dynamite on a ham & cheese sandwich or bacon buttie !
