This is a 30 ton Rolling Mill Flywheel from Low Moor Iron Works nr Bradford. It serves as a monument to the works that originally closed in the 1920s and the continuation works which sprang out of the ashes finally closed in 1971.

It's quite large!

Note the plaque says Steel Works but I believe it was originally started as and known as an Iron Works.

Foulridge Tunnel vent. The Leeds & Liverpool Canal was a business success model for a century or so before the naughty polluting railway took over. Road haulage finally killed it for it's original purpose half a century ago but it lives again as a recreational resource.

An 18th century warehouse along the quay, more recently used as a bottling store for locally produced soft drinks. This is part of a large complex which included a flour mill and a flax mill around the corner out of sight. Sadly most of these buildings are derelict and fallen in.

Few pictures here from the Calder Hebble Navigation and the dry Halifax Branch.

This is Woodside Flour Mills in Elland, once one of the largest mills in Yorkshire.

And one of it in use, not sure on date.

A disused lock and a bridge on the dried Halifax branch.

And a bonus Bradley Viaduct on the old Newtown Goods Midland Railway. This runs between Huddersfield and Mirfield though the Huddersfield end can be a bit grim!
