Just a note for the the two riders that spotted me stranded on London Road (near Waterlooville) today with a puncture..

Both stopped to offer help.. How many motorists do you get like that (I count myself in that one as well:sad:)

Thanks to both guys.. It restores faith in people:biggrin:

I think there is an unwritten code amoungst cyclists that ensures we all help each other out whenever possible..it's really cool to be part of that 'vibe'.

yep, a thanks to the chap on the mtb with a panier in macclesfield who stopped to see if i needed a hand yesterday as i was mashing my cleats along the road, bike in tow. unfortunately a goosed rear tyre was beyond repair, and neither of us had a suitable spare (i didn't ask, but i doubt anyone on an mtb would carry spare folding 700c tyres).

Indeed, it is polite to ask, when passing a fellow cyclist who has a problem if they are ok and do they need anything.

Couldn't have been anyone from this place, otherwise you would have been subject to a two hour debate on the best way to mend a puncture

Seriously though it is nice when people stop to see if you are OK.

Luckily any time I've stopped and asked if they are ok ... they have usually replied they're fine... cos I wouldn't probably be much help... carry limited spare (ie no inner tube/folding tyres) but I do usually have a pump and mini tool thing.

There was this elderly Asian chap who was sitting next to the tow path looking thoroughly fed up with his punctured bike.
I stopped and asked if he needed help?
His face instantly lit up.
To save pissing about I fitted my spare tube into his bike, rather than fit a patch.

He did say: 'You're the third cyclist who's passed him and the only one that bothered to ask him if he needed help.'
