This would be awesome!
Another ridiculous idea IMO. I can just about see the point of the French national tour starting in a country with a shared border. The channel crossing the south coast of England is stretching it a bit far but what on earth is the point of starting in Yorkshire?
Who benefits from it? Not the riders, not the race as a spectacle as far as I can see.
Maybe someone will come up with a persuasive argument

Imagine the chaos a couple of whippets could cause running amock through the peleton!
If it was up to, the prolouge would be a hill climb on Rosedale Chimney, and the first stage would then take in the very best hills that Yorkshire has to offer. The top climbers will then be so far in the lead that they will have effectively won the Tour before even setting wheel in France

London was just about feasible, having to travel the distance they'd have to if it was further north is silly, keep it in neighbouring countries imo.

That routes cheating, its well short, it goes from York direct to Scarborough, missing out the North York Moors, does not seem to go into Scarborough and then heads down to sunny Brid. It also misses out the Yorkshire Dales too between Leeds and York.
I'll ride it tomorrow, I need just another 46 miles to make up my 750 target for May so it should help me out that route.
