X-box vs Wii Lego game

We already have a Wii - getting quite old now, and we have bought an X-box for Christmas. I had already bought the Lego Lord of the Rings for the Wii (pre-ordered long before we decided to get the X-box). Not having seen anything on X-box, will the X-box version be better or very similar? (Not sure what the advantage of the X-box is myself). I could give the Wii version to my nephews as a Christmas present if the X-box one is better.

Lego won't push an Xbox, and its not super hi res. the Xbox is a media machine, and we use it a lot for streaming films from the main PC.

I ended up getting the Xbox version (the nephews will be pleased with the Wii version). Now I need to get the X-box live thing so he can play with his mates.

I think the Wii Wins with better graphics and built in movement sensing. Do XBox's still have the red ring of death problems?

All above comes from a Nintendo lover. I've had every nintendo since the one before the n64 (still have a working N64). I'm on my second Wii. The first is still going strong. I made the mistake of selling it and buying an Xbox that I no longer have.

Wii vs XBOX 360, not Wii U or Wii vs XBOX original. LOTR is not available on the Wii U anyway because Lego City Undercover will be out at some point.

What is Lego City Undercover??? Never heard of that one.

He is so far enjoying LOTR and Minecraft on his XBox, and Legend of Zelda continues to be played on the Wii!!

The main thing is trying to make sure he doesn't spend his entire time on there!!!

I think it's safe to assume I meant current machines. After all the orginial Xbox was discontinued around 2005, and Wii's are still available.

Essentially, the lego games are developed and ported across the three consoles adjusting controls to suit. The main difference you'll see between the Xbox & Wii versions is that the Wii doesn't do HD while the 360, PS3 and Wii-U can. Lego LOTR will look a lot nicer/sharper on the 360 but it's basically the same game on the Wii.

Better graphics on the Wii version? It seems unlikely to me based on previous incarnations of the Lego games and the above graphic.
