Would copperslip be ok to put a smear on the seatpost?

I put copper grease on my seatposts that go into steel frames. No problems.

It may convert into a powerful glue if used with non-steel frames for all I know.

Deffo - I put it on seatposts, pedal threads, BB shells. Things I don't want to stick permanently due to galvanic corrosion.

I've used copperslip on steel into aluminium fittings for 20 years with no issues. Biggest issue is following somebody into a job who hasn't!.

I did meet someone once who had used lard on their chain.... And it was visible as bit of lard stuck to the chain!

a thin , and i mean very very thin wipe of vaseline will also do the job for galvanic corrosion protection

Worth pointing out (if only to upset people) that 'copperslip' does not actually exist. I suspect what people are referring to is a brand of copper compound called 'Copaslip'.
