Wot!? No Album of the Year Thread?

Let's sort that out now. Here are my top 3, in no particular order.

Linkin Park - From Zero. A superb return to form with a new singer and she has a helluva set of lungs.

She Drew the Gun - Howl. Another great album from a very under-rated band.

The Cure - Songs of a Lost World. Their first for 16 years and it was worth the wait.

You say that and I would normally agree with you. But in this case the album is pretty good. Forget all their pop nonsense, Caterpillar, Friday Night etc, this album is more of an aural soundscape. It's well worth a listen even if you're not a Cure fan.

The mighty Metal Gods delivered a stunning, powerful album that belies their years.

Panzerfaust - Suns Of Perdition IV - To Shadow Zion
The Canadian Black Metallers continue their fine run of form with a bruising set of tunes

Original NWOBHM'ers came back album. A superb album of Prog/Classic Rock. For a band that's been around and have survived for 5 centuries, this absolutely Rocks. .

I kind of drift along listening to ancient crap most of the time so new albums aren't much of a thing to me. I did notice one this year though.
