A hit-and-run motorist has been jailed for eight and a half years for causing the death by dangerous driving of a 74-year-old cyclist.
George Searle was hit by Kile Straker, 24, from Wolverhampton, who was driving at about 60mph in a 40mph zone on the Stafford Road in the city.
Straker, who did not stop or seek help, had "under-taken" a van which had moved into the outside lane to pass Mr Searle, from Dudley.
Mr Searle died shortly after the crash.
Having originally denied being involved in the crash, Straker, of Armstrong Drive in Dunstall Park, changed his plea in October and admitted causing death by dangerous driving at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
After the sentencing, Mr Searle's family said: "[Nothing] will ever bring our dad, husband and granddad back.
"We will forever miss George, he was a true gentleman, a kind and loving man."
