North Cheshire Clarion are hosting their first event, a 115km audax entitled The Wizard and the Llamas; a relatively gentle audax, ideal for a balmy afternoon in September!
The route starts from the Lower Whitley HQ and heads out on flatish roads through Comberbach, High Legh and Bucklow Hill to take in the picturesque Tatton Park. From Knutsford it's flat over to Alderley Edge before the first climb to the Wizard Tea Rooms Control. From here you head out via the footballers’ mansions around Prestbury, over a few cobbles, and climb through Bollington into the edges of the Peak District National Park. Some stiff climbs take you past Llamaload Reservoir and Macclesfield Forest before a downhill to the second cafe Control at Gawsworth Hall.
