As above, i've done plenty of swearing and shouting myself at cars, buses and other cyclists (one guy decided to pull out infront of me on the road going home today!) and i've also had one proper shouting match at a set of lights at a pair of idiots in a van, but on my way home today i witnessed my first bike rage incident that i wasn't involved in..

To cut a long story short, coming to the end of a pretty busy A road, a car infront of me narrowly missed a cyclist after pulling around him with a set of lights only 200 yards ahead and a row of cars coming towards him in the opposite lane. The cyclist then seemed to swirve all over the place straight after and started waving his arms at him. I knew the road really well so just stayed back behind the cyclist as i was willing to bet the lights were red round the corner.

On slowing down as i get to the bend, low and behold the lights are red. Right on queue the cyclist goes straight for the car, bangs his fist against the passenger window, indicates for the chap to put it down and starts shouting/swearing at him and waving his hands!! Car driver wasn't interested and shouted back!. Wasn't long before the lights changed and the cyclist turned round to pedal off in the opposite direction.

Shocking piece of driving and didn't take long for the same car to almost cause an accident a few miles down the road! :stop:

Yes I can, Yes I am, Yes I did...Repeat.
good for the cyclist..some drivers just never learn.

I was driving out of Exeter last summer and the car in front of me pulled out and overtook a cyclist and then had to cut him up to get back in before hitting some bollards in the middle of the road .. the cyclist had a bit of a rant but the car just continued on, there is a set of lights about 350 yards further down the road so i sat behind the cyclist knowing he would catch me at the lights .. when we got to the lights they were on red and the other car was sat there waiting .. the cyclist propped his bike up against the kerb walked round to the drivers side and opened the door and without saying a word he punched the bloke in the face and walked away again without saying a word .. jumped back on his bike and cycled off casually  i was wetting myself

I often wonder if my 4 cell maglight torch could be carried in my rucksack the same as how a ninja would carry his sword.
Then in the event a motorist cuts me up ... whip it out and crack his side window, or i could just throw it .......

(I'm joking f.f.s!!!!)

It may be sensible not to carry it - just in case you do!

That's the kind of thing where if you've been thinking about it and the red mist descends you could find yourself carrying it out.

I'm a bit of a cheapskate and wouldn't want to destroy my property, though I have considered squirting people with my waterbottle!

Point noted!!
I'll stick to using the waterbottle, or nasally expelled products of rhinitis. ;)

I wish I was there to see that

I've only seen one bike rage incident ever but it was a good'un. Back in the 1980s I used to cycle from Penge to Lower Sydenham every day to attend college and I'd often see a young woman on a knackered old bike going the same way, dressed in typical 80s "new age" gear. Said hello a few times, moaned about the weather a couple of times but one day when she was about 30 yards in front of me I saw a brand new white van with trade name on it come far too close to her and the jerk in the passenger seat leaned out and slapped her bum. She gave vent to a scream of outrage and pedalled like fury to catch them up at the next set of traffic lights. Reaching into the basket on the front of her bike she produced a bike chain and began to belabour the van from back to front, thrashing it to within a inch of its life and yelling incoherantly. The blokes inside were clearly cr*pping themselves as she had turned from hippy chick to demented chain weilding amazon in a flash, but wisely they stayed inside and roared off as soon as the lights changed. By that time the van has sutained serious chain rash and I often wonder how they explained it their boss.
